Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1909 SVD-B cent

Question
I cannot see the SVD part on the back of the cent. Is there any other way to tell if it's real or not?

Answer
Hi Charlie, There were 484,000 1909 cents minted at San Francisco (S) with the VDB initials. There were 1.825 million minted there without the VDB initials. It is likely yours may not have the initials.
You might take it by a local coin shop for a first hand opinion: http://find.mapmuse.com/interest/coin_dealers .
