Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1967 washington quarter

Question
hello again and ty for answering previous questions. before i take pics of coin i have a question, found a 1967 washington quarter with what appears to be burn marks on both sides not sure if it is or not. the coin itself has a brass almost gold color clad layer in the reed .can a tourch or anything like it change the color of the clad layer?

Thanks for the question.
It is difficult to answer your question without a photo or seeing the coin, but I'll try. If you want to ask a follow-up question by providing additional photos of the coin, or more of a description, I'll modify the answer, if required.
A torch and/or heat, fire, can change or modify the coins surface and appearance. This would be classified as an altered coin, and it would have no added numismatic value.

Worked weekends for "Lonesome" John in the late 1960's to mid 1970's processing error coins, packaging, and preparing orders. Worked with John Devine and Fred Weinberg on several California Error A Rama's in the early 1970's. Served as display judge at annual Error-A-Rama coin shows. Opened and operated mail order coin business DBA "CAL ERRORS" in 1976. Contributer to Alan Herbert's "Official Price Guide To Mint Errors" and Fivaz/Stanton "Cherrypickers' Guide". Worked Saturdays at Huntington Beach Coin Exchange 1980-1999. Had table and sold coins at a number of coin and gun shows in So CA, AZ and NV.
