Question

1975 Zloty
I have, as stated, a '74 and a '75 Polish 200 Zloty coins.  I believe they are silver as the only reference I can find are to silver.  I was curious if you could tell me what they may be worth and if their value is worth more than the silver value.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Curt,
In mint condition, the 1974 bring $8 to $10 and the 1975 brings $10 to $15 (plus shipping). Coins that are worn or damaged are just worth the silver bullion value, which for these two is roughly $10. There are also proof version for both years, which will have a mirror-like background and frosted looking raised features. The are worth a few times more than the much more common regular versions.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
