Question
What is the current value of the Liberty coin sets? 1986 dollar and 1/2 dollar sets? San Francisco Sets

Answer
Hi Cynthia:

Thank you for the opportunity to answer your question.

A recent issue of 'Coin Values' Magazine lists the UNC 1986 Half at $6 and Dollar at $21, or about $27 for the set. The Proof versions are listed at $6 for the Half and $18 for the Dollar, or about $24 for the set. You'll likely get a few dollars more for each set with the original packaging and COA's.

Look at ebay listings under US Modern Commemoratives to see if your pieces are listed and what they are going for.

If you live close to a coin shop, they should offer you an opinion as to grade and value at no charge. Remember, should you choose to sell your coins, get at least two estimates from professional coin dealers (PNG). I've listed a link for you to find them in your area. Dealers normally pay between 50% to 60% of retail for items they want.
