Metal detecting in Vermount I found a coin difficult to see due to dirt.
Has george ivs on one side facing left Sitting WOMAN OUTSTRETCHED ARMS STAFF ONE HAND CANNOT SEE WHAT IS IN r HAND.
DATE APPEARS under woman ?1717 0r 1817.

Hi Lyle, what is the size of the coin? Is it copper?
King George IV reigned 1820-30. King George I (1714-27). King George II (1727-1760). King George III (1760-1820).
Cleaning coins that leaves them shiny or scratched, even if only by looking with a magnifying glass, will reduce a coin's value by at least half.
