Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Another Joseph Barr question!

Question
I have 10 1963 Series B Joeseph Barr $1 dollar bills (in consecutive order).  They appear to be uncirculated and are extremely crisp.  Are they worth hanging onto?  How much would they be worth today?  One last question, in doing some research on Joseph Barr, it appears that he served under Johnson in 1968-69.  Why do these dollar bills have 1963 on them?  Thanks so much, this is a very interesting website.

Answer
Hi Teresa, I believe he only served a few months but notes continued to be printed with his signature for some time. Some people thought they may be scarce (urban legend) but turned out they were wrong.
They may be worth about $3 each if uncirculated but someone may offer more because of the consecutive serial numbers. It all depends on who you ask as there is no 'set in stone' price.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
