Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Reverse side of Drei Mark

Question

Drei Mark rear
Just a second e-mail with the reverse image of the Drei Mark I sent earlier.  By the way, the mint mark appears to be an "A".

Answer
Hi James,
You will be pleased to know that this coin is indeed scarce and pretty valuable, especially in this condition which I would rate as a solid AU by the photos.
The commemoration is for the 1913 marriage and ascension to the throne of Ernst August, the ruler of the German State of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel.

These were made in 2, 3 and 5 mark denominations. The drei (3) mark is actually the most common with a mintage of 32,000. The other denominations have a mintage of less than 2,000 coins for each.

If I had it at one of my eBay auctions, I would expect right around $200 for it. The funny thing is, if it had been an old US coin with that mintage, the prices would be astronomical. It's a sad but true disparity in the coin collecting world.

I've pasted this into the other question as well.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
