Coin and Paper Money Collecting/coin value

Question
I have a deutsche mark from 1875 in fair to good condition and was wondering if there is any value to this coin?

Answer
Hi Brad,
There are several different mint marks for this year, but they all have similar values (especially in well circulated condition). If you look at the side with the eagle, there is a shield in the center. If the shield is worn flat, the coin is worth $5 or less. If you have most details in the shield visible, then the value goes up to around $10. Full detail is hard to find, and those coins go for $30-$50 without shiny luster and upwards of $50 with shiny luster.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
