sir recently i got a indian 1rs coin.
DEUTSCH OSTAFRIKA is written and its year is 1906 so can u tell me history about this and how does it came in india
The coin comes from German East Africa (Tanganika).
After World War 1, Tanganika was entrusted to Great Britain as a League of Nations mandate, and after WW 2 as a United Nations trust territory.
Maybe the British influence after WW1 is responsible for the coin making it's way to India.
Just a guess on my part but plausible.
