Question
I have an old silver coin 1875 with the queen facing the left with her hair in a bun. Victoria Del Gratis on one side and the reverse a crown seated on a rectangle which is divided into four. part of the words are ritanniarum regina what is the value?

Answer
Hi Claude, it seems to be a British i/2 Crown coin featuring Queen Victoria (1837-1901). This coin should be 32 millimeters in diameter, weigh 14.138 grams and would contain .4205 of an ounce of silver. Collector value may be worth about $10 with heavy wear to around $45 with moderate wear to maybe $150 with light wear.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
