Question
I have a 1875 10 ORE coin, I have found some on line but not this one. This coin reads 10 ORE on top, in the center * 3 Sk *, and on the bottom 18 two axes in an x 75. On the other side it reads on the right Osc with lines under the sc, In the center is a crest with a lion with a axe and a crown on top, on the left is 11. This coin shows very little ware. Any thing you could tell me would help.   Thank You

Answer

Hi Michael,
If you searched online you probably found the Sweden 1875 10 ore, which is more common than your coin from Norway. At that time they were switching currencies, so the mid-1870's coins had both the "ore" and the "SK" (skilling) denominations.
These coins are very popular with collectors and hard to find in good shape. With minimal wear and no other damage or problems such a coin is worth in the range of $200.
Also worth mentioning: there is another variety for this year without the "3 SK" that is worth even more.
Thanks for the question! =)
