Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1879 s - reverses

Question
Hi ,
I too am confused , more than ever now . After reading your answer , I thought the difference was on the slanted arrow or parallel top arrow , and on the convex and concave breast . Help out and alder collector. Thanks

Answer
1878 was the only year that they had a convex breast.  Hence, if an 1879 has a convex breast, it is referred to as a REVERSE of 1878.  The slanted arrow is also an indicator of an 1879 reverse, however seeing the concave breast is that much easier.

I hope this helped.
