Question
I want to know how much does a 1950 bundesrepublik deutschland coin cost in american dollars. The denomination is 50 and the mint mark looks like a 'C' but could possibly be a 'G'. Would you be able to help me determine the value? Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Jenna, There were 66.4 million of these copper-nickel West German 50 pfennig coins minted that year in Stuttgart (G) that year. Collector value may be worth about .15 with heavy wear to around $.50 with moderate wear to maybe $1.50 with light wear. Germany use the Euro now so these are no longer legal tender there.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
