Question
I have (10) Eisenhower dollars, all dated 1971.  Have been trying to identify the mint at which they were coined, i.e. S or D, but can find no mint mark on the coins (would usually appear above the date).  Were any of these dollars minted without a mint mark or is it hidden somewhere else on the coin?  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Dave:

Thank you for the opportunity to answer your question.

Mintmarks appear above the third and fourth numbers in the date under Eisenhower's neck. They were struck for Denver (D), Philadelphia (No mint mark), and San Francisco (S). Seeing your coins have no mint mark, they were likely struck at the Philadelphia mint.
