Question
I was recently remodeling a house and found a 1907 10 Milliemes Coin, It appears bronze, with a sphynx on one side and the yr and some writing on the other.
The other coin is a 1919 coin with a mans sillouette on one side and this writing:georgivs v dei britt omn rex fid def ind imp .
On the other side is a greek looking warrior sitting on a rock with a trident and it says one penny and the date 1919.
I am interested in finding out some history and if there is any value to them. I look forward to hearing your response.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Chris, two different coins there makes you wonder how they got together. The first is an aluminum-bronze Egyptian 10 millimes coins dated 1956 in Arabic. Collector value may be worth about .50 with heavy wear to around $3 with moderate wear to maybe $7 with light wear.
The second is a bronze British 1919 penny featuring King George V (1910-36) and on the other side is the allegorical figure of Britannia leaning on a rock with a trident and shield which symbolizes Britain's mastery of the seas and worldwide empire. Collector value may be worth about .20 with heavy wear to around $2.50 with moderate wear to maybe $17 with light wear. If it has a small H or KN mintmark to the left of the date it may be worth multiples more (let me know!).
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
