Question
I have a german 1940 aluminum i believe coin that is what seems like little wear and two minor dents on the edge of coin, as im not familiar with how to grade coin on condition especially with aluminum. It has a bird with the swastika under it,on the other side it it has the number 50 and below the fifty it has to leaves pointing in opposite directions and between the two leaves it has what i believe is the mint mark letter A. I would appreciate if you or someone can give me a reasonable value estimate on this coin. thank you.

Answer
Hi Daniel, There were 56.1 million of these aluminum Nazi German 50 pfennig coins featuring an eagle minted that year in Berlin (A). Collector value may be worth about .25 with heavy wear to around $4.50 with moderate wear to maybe $11 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
