Question

Kruger set
Hi Dmitry,
One more question from me, I have goodled to try find info on this set, but can't find any.  Please could you give me and idea of the value and any info you have.
Many thanks

Answer
Hi Amanda,
This set commemorated the removal of the Paul Kruger statues in Pretoria in 1954, as stated on the medallions. They are made of 9kt gold, sterling silver and bronze.
I managed to find an auction record for the same set with box from July of 2008. At that time it sold for 130 British pounds (just under $200). However, gold and silver values have increased since then, so the current value would be somewhere between $200 and $250.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
