Question
I have a 1975 penny that is kind of the color of gold not copper and there is no letter stamped below the date. I was wondering if they were ever minted in another kind of metal.

Exposure to heat or chemicals can change the color of your penny.

And having no mintmark under the date just means it came from the main mint in Philadelphia -- only branch mints like Denver put a mintmark under the date on pennies.
