Question
I have a  silver coin 1908.  On one side it says United States of America.  On the other side it says One Peso  Filipinas.  What is the worth?  Thank you!

Answer
Hi Crissey, There were 21 million of the U.S. Philippines 1 Peso coins minted in San Francisco (S) that year. The islands were under U.S. control 1898-1946. This coin should weigh 20.0 grams and would contain .5144 of an ounce of silver.
Collector value may be worth about $9 with heavy wear to around $10 with moderate wear to maybe $12 with light wear.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
