Hi I have a 1959 Elizabeth II Regina coin from south Africa and I believe it is one penny because it says 1D on the back. I was just wondering how much it is worth in USD, if anything

Hi Brian, yes, it is a penny, South African I assume. Collector value may be worth about .10 with heavy wear to around .35 with moderate wear to maybe .75 with light wear. There were 5 million minted that year.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
