Question
Hello,  I have a 1910 Deutsches Reigh Drei Mark with a the letter J on the back which also has what appears to be a coat of arms and two lion like figures facing away from each other.  Also, on the back are the words Frele Und Hansestadt Hamburg.  The coin is in good condition.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Pat, There were 525,500 of the the German 3 Mark coins minted that year in Hamburg by the Free City of Hamburg. This coin should weigh 16.667 grams and would contain .4823 of an ounce of silver. Collector value may be worth about $9 with heavy wear to around $25 with moderate wear to maybe $40 with light wear.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
