Question
can you help give me a value on set of hamilton mint silver ingots issued 1974 perfect condition in box no tarnish and also  1883 silver dollar

Answer
Hi Dan
The Hamilton mint silver would trade at the silver content.  Here is how to figure the value:

You need to know what the purity of the silver it.  It is usually either .999 pure of Sterling which is .925 pure.

Whichever you have, pure or sterling, multiply the correct decimal (.999 or .925) times the current price of silver which is about $18.50 right now.

Next you need to know the weight of the bars.  They are usually 1 troy ounce.  So you multiply the weight times the price and get the actual value of the bars.  Usually a dealer will offer about $1 below that price when you go to sell.

The 1883 silver dollar, if it is in used condition, it is worth about $14.  In mint condition, the trade for about $25
