Question
My grandfather left me 2 albums of paper money with shipping receipts that state "We guarantee the genuineness of all our emergency money, which in the years 1914-1924 were the lawfull means of paying in Germany and Austria."  The albums contain hundreds of paper bills from the countries in all denominations.  Where do I even begin in determining the value if there is any?
Thank you for your time,
Bob

Answer
Hi Bob, these are emergency money (notgeld) issued by cities and towns. They are generally worth about $1 depending on type, amount of wear and collector demand.
