Coin and Paper Money Collecting/gold coin value

Question
I have a pin made from joining two gold coins together without holes or other damage to the coin. One coin is an Edward VII one pound and the other is a George V one pound.
What would be the approximate value of the pin?

Answer
Hi Marion, if the coins are genuine British Sovereign coins they should weigh 7.988 grams each and would contain .2354 of an ounce of gold each. They would be worth the total gold value.
If a coin has been damaged by becoming part of the jewelry or cannot be separated from the jewelry without damage then its value lies in the piece of jewelry and not as a coin.
