Question
I have four gold coins, Colombia issued in honor of the celebration of 39th Eucharistic Convention in Bogota,1968 and Pope Paul VII opened the event. The set is composed of five coins, $1500,$500, $300, $200. I have all except the $1500. They have been wrapped in tissue paper all the time, therefor they are in mint condition. My question is how much are they worth? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Answer
Hi Norma, the 5 coin set included the 100, 200, 300, 500, and 1500 Pesos,
They contain the following gold content: .1244, .2488, .3733, .6221, and 1.8663.
8000 of the original boxes of 5 sold for $340 each. Yours may sell at bullion value:
Current gold and silver values: http://www.kitco.com/market/ .
I would put them in something more than paper, a nonreactive plastic folder.
You might take them by a local coin shop for a first hand opinion: http://find.mapmuse.com/interest/coin_dealers .
