Question
Can you help me determine the value of this coin?  It is in excellent condition. The writing on the coin is very plain.  What I can determine is that it was minted in Dalagona GA. A lot of people have been wanting to buy it for the price of gold.  Thank you in advance, Alton

Answer
The Dalagona gold pieces have good value numismatically in excess of their gold content.  Looking at current wholesale prices, the 1853D is at 1600 in VF, 2800 in EF, 3950 in AU.  Thus, you need to know the exact condition and showing it to an expert would be a good start, Jim Lawniczak
