Question

1962 10 Centimes
Hi, I have a 1862 10 centimes, Belgium coin, wondering what it may be worth. It is a bit worn on both sides, Thanks Graham

Answer
Hi Graham,
For being such an old coin it is unfortunately not particularly valuable. There were tens of millions of these coins minted and they are quite common in used condition. The coin in the picture is actually in very good shape, but would still bring no more than $5 US. In mint condition these coins top out at the equivalent of $50 US on the international market.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
