Question
This coin has a woman with a plant in her hand on one side. There is a G below the 50. I have looked around the net but cannot find any info about this coin. I have found info about 1972+ but not a 1970 G. I was just curious about this since i was given it by accident in place of a nickel at a store.

Answer
Hi Wendi, There were 12 million of these West German copper-nickel 50 pfennig coins minted that year featuring a woman planting an oak sprig. Collector value may be worth about .10 with heavy wear to around .20 with moderate wear to maybe .50 with light wear depending on amount of collector demand.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
