Question
Hi,
Round 2 3/4" encased with black background; Alberto Jorge stamped; contains 1822-1922 1000Reis coin, 1945 2 cruzeiroes, 10 centaves, 20 centaves, 50 centaves and one with the Brasil map on it (1 cruzeiro?)
Would the case/coins be worth much? And is it made of brass or aluminum-bronze? Please advise. Thank you Liz

Answer
Hi Liz, it is a set put together by someone. All are aluminum-bronze. Value depends on the amount of wear on each coin.
With moderate wear, .60, .20, .25, .15, .25, .15 = $1.60
With light wear, $2, .40, .60, .35, .50, .25 = $4.10
Being in an attractive set may add a little too.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
