Question
This morning, I found this coin by the creek bed in our yard. There is a capital letter N cut out in the center. The words Nashville Transit Company are on one side and Good For One School Fare is on the other side.  Can you tell me how much this is worth or how I can find out more about it?  Thanks, Kay Groves

Answer
Kay, sounds like you have what is called a "transit token."  These were issued to be used for transport.  Yours must have been good to get to school.  Sounds interesting.  There are two ways to look for your piece.  Try doing a search on www.ebay.com for Nashville transit token and perhaps other information about your piece.  You might see some for sale and can see what sellers are asking, and even more important what bidders are offering.  Also, try the same search at www.google.com.  Good luck, Jim Lawniczak
