Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Old coin

Question
We have several old domestic and foreign coins and also paper money to have appraised. The one that catches my eye is a coin dated 1776, it says "Liberty and Virtue" with a figure holding a staff. Reverse side says "Massachusetes State" has a tree with IC LM below the tree. Is this coin valuable? It appears to be copper.

Answer
Hi Dave, this is a replica of a Massachusetts pine tree token.
You might take it by a local coin shop for a first hand opinion: http://find.mapmuse.com/interest/coin_dealers .
You might also try a library for a copy of the Guidebook of United States Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
