Hi Brad, question from RSA (Freezing,but sunny!)
Have 3x uncirculated 5 rouble? notes dated 1909. They all have the same serial no.YA-197 Why is this, and can you give me some sort of value? I believe, as so many millions were printed, they are only worth a dollar each!

Hi Rob, that is the plate number. These were 1917+ Soviet issues and may be worth up to about $4 each if uncirculated depending on amount of collector demand.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
