Coin and Paper Money Collecting/penny with no markings

Question
I found a penny with no imprint on either side.  Is this worth anything or should I just toss it.

Answer
It sounds like you have a blank planchet.  They sometimes slip into circulation, unnoticed by the mint workers.  They have some value, though not all that much as they are not all that rare.  Try going to www.ebay.com and doing searches for cent (or penny) planchet and see if any are for sale and if so for what price, Jim Lawniczak
