Question
Brad - I have seen a number of 1915 Austrian 1 Ducat gold coins out (since they are all re-strike coins and not of that date) but I can't find any 1914 1 Ducat coins.  Can you tell me the value of a VF or BU 1914 gold 1 Ducat coin? How much would I have to pay for one in excellent condition? And how come I can't find one dated 1914?  thanks   tom

Answer
Yes, Tom, There were 378,241 listed as being minted in the Standard Catalog of World Coins and it lists at .1107 of an ounce of gold. It may be worth a little above that.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
