Question
I have a 1944 penny.  It WILL stick to a magnet.  It is very hard to discern the penny's markings because about 99% of the penny's surface is rusted.  Can you tell me if this penny has any value.

Answer
It it is indeed dated 1944 and not 1943, it is quite rare.  However, the rust is a problem.  Do not try to clean the coin, that will only make matters worse.
1944 Steel cents have changed hands for as much as $40,000

I suggest you have the coin inspected under a microscope to check the date.  1943 steel cents are common and worth about 6 cents.
