Question
This coin has the color of a US penny & is the very same size. One side shows a flag (on a pole) with 25 stars & 13 stripes.It is circled by 13 stars & on the outer edge are the words "The flag of our Union" On the reverse it says "If anybody attempts to tear it down shoot him on the spot". In the very center is a braided rope in a circle. In it are the letters DIX. Can you help me with this? Thanks in advance, Elliott L. Kipp

You have what's known as a Patriotic Civil War Token. These were privately made for merchants, to be used as pennies, so they could more easily make change for their transactions. This was partly done to express political sentiments, but mostly to relieve the stress of the unavailability of small coinage during the Civil War due to extensive hoarding of regular U.S. Mint coinage.
One of the more common varieties, its value is about $15 in circulated condition.
