Question
I have five (5) caciques de venezuela gold coins in very good conditions. Mint 1955 by the Interchange bank of Suiss. The coins are: Manaure, Naiguata, Guaicaipuro, Paramacay & paramaconi. Do they have a collectors value besides theire gold value?

Answer
Hi Gregory,
If the coins are in mint condition, with no signs of wear and original luster, you can safely add 15% to the bullion value. If there is any wear, damage or cleaning you are pretty much looking at bullion value.
It's also worth mentioning that even if your coin are perfect, and you sell them on eBay, you pretty much end up with bullion value after fees.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.

Collector of world coins since early childhood. Access to a variety of auction records and reference material. You can also find me on Facebook.
