Question
I will cleaning up the petty cash at work and found this dime.  It has no rim and is off center by a little bit.  I do believe the date is 1995 but is not completely there.
Could you give me an estimate on how much this dime might be worth?

Hi Heather:

Thanks for your question. From your description, you have what is called a minor off center strike. This happens when the unstruck coin, or blank, fails to enter the die chamber completely. The result is a coin with only part of the design and lettering getting stuck on the blank. Your coin is also missing all or most of the edge reeding that is normally struck into the coin by the retaining collar. Minor off center clad dimes (5% to 10% off struck) would likely retail for the $5 to $10 range, depending on date, strike and amount off center.

You may want to check US coins and currency listings under errors on eBay from time to time to see if your coin is listed what this type of item may bring.

If you live close to a local shop, they should offer an opinion as to the value at no charge. Always try and get at least two opinions and try and deal with PNG dealers if possible.
