Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Gold Coin Question

Question
I came across a coin and have had no luck finding any information about it online...well I have found some information but none for the year stamped on it. I am trying to figure out if it is a copy or the real deal. It is definitely gold. The coin I have is identical to the coin numbered 42 on this website http://www.coinarchives.com/w/results.php?results=100&search=isab

The only difference is that it is dated 1869. From what I have read there were coins minted after 1868 but were all stamped 1868. This one clearly says 1869.

Any information you can provided will help fill my curiosity.

Thanks!

Chris

Answer
Hi Chris,
Many of these are brass copies, but the solid gold ones are official re-strikes done after the reign of Isabel. They are worth around the same values as the 1868 coins, except in mint condition where these later issues are more common.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
