Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Found a 1928 Encased Lucky Penny

Question
Hey Jim, I found a 1928 Encased "Keep Me And Never Go Broke" Lucky Penny from the Berman Jewelry Company. It is "Good for $2.00 on Purchase of $15.00 or More." There is no Mint Mark and it doesn't look to have been worn off. I'd say fair condition. My problem is i can't find anything online about the Berman Jewelry Company, except a company that started in 2001. any idea what this is worth?

Answer
Justin, there was a series of good for pieces made in horseshoe shape in the 1920s for various jewelry and furniture credit stores.  You have one of those.  In nice condition, these sell between $10 and $30 depending on the scarcity of the piece, the state and who happens to need the piece and want it.  You don't give any more information, but I show that there was a 1926 piece issued for Berman Jewelry Co., 33 E. Market St., Wilkes-Barre, PA.  So if your piece doesn't have address or city or state (a maverick), then I would guess that it is likely (though not 100% certain) to be the same one from Wilkes-Barre, Jim
