Question
Alaska Gold Coin
Alaska Gold Coin
I have a very small 8 sided coin dated 1863, it has an Indian Head on one side  with 16 stars and 1/4 and the date with Alaska Gold on the other. It measures 10.28mm to 10.30mm. Is this an Alaskan Gold Coin?

Answer
Hi Alvin,

The fact that it doesn't have a denomination such as Dollar, Dol., or D. means it isn't a coin.  It would be considered to be a token.  There were Alaska gold tokens made, and many replicas.  Yours may be gold, or may not be.

If you check eBay, you probably will find a similar item and what they are selling for.
