Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Value of unusual 1941 penny

Question
I have been searching through a number wheat pennies, mostly looking for rarer dates. In the process I have stumbled upon a 1941 cent whose date shows the 19 then a larger space between the 9 and 4 with the 4 and 1 being about 1/2 the size of the 1 and 9. In addition the 1 looks more like a backslash(/). I am a novice collector but am aware of misstrikes, CUD's and other errors but have not seen or heard of anything quite like this. Hope you can help and tell me if this penny might be worth something. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Gary,

I have been asked about pennies with slanted 1's like this before, and every time it turned out to be caused by some kind of damage to the coin -- it got hit by something that caused movement in the metal of the digits of the dates.

Now I have not seen your coin, but I bet if you use a 20-30 power magnifier, you will find evidence of metal movement around the date.

Considered damaged, this coin would not have any added collector value.
