Question
Dear Sir,
In my Linclon Penny search Today I found a 1959 D.They say if you can't see the Error with your Naked eyes don't even bother.
This Penny is in XF condition.Everything is OK expect this:
The DATE... in 1 High (Double Hit) 9 is LOW and then 5 is High(Double hit) and then 9 is High (Double Hit).
It was easy to spot.Again,in the date 1959 all is FAT and Thick and Rasied up only the First 9 is LOW and normal.
Have you seen this error before?
Does it have a name?
Do you think it commands any collectors value?

PS:I did what you asked,I weighed the 1992D at a Pawn Shop and its real.A real US MINT COIN,with the NICE ERROR on the Back.It weighs 1.9 Grams,considering the Cross-shaped cut through the center of the coin its the perfect weight.So,its not made of any FiberGlass as I thought afterall...I'll send in the pic asap,Sir!

Minor variations of the date and mintmark are fairly common for cents struck in the 1950's and 1960's, and normally do not command a premium for circulated coins. It is close to impossible to keep up on all the variations, and most are not scarce or rare. You may want to check ebay under the error category to see if your coin is listed and what it is going for.
I'm not familiar with the 1959 cent variety you speak of, but you can find out all about the major Lincoln cent varieties at: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/
If you live close to a local shop, they should offer an opinion as to it's value and if it is authentic at no charge. Always try and get at least two opinions and try and deal with PNG dealers if possible. Here's a link to find one in your area: http://www.pngdealers.com/dealersearch.php

| Comment | Thank you for your comments.I did not know till today,that there are so many variations in DATE's erros (1950's-1960's) and minor errors to Keep up with.I'd had thought that every ERROR was documented.I was wrong.Thank you for your advise.I found a Great Website for Wheat Pennys called. http://www.Wheat-Pennys.com Its the most Expensive website I ever saw yet,and its Linked to the Ebay Sales,so one can see what the current bids are....
