Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1964 Pennys Simple Question?

Question
Dear Sir,My Question is very simple.Have you ever seen or heard of 1964 or in that era coins MARKED with big "B" on the Face of the coin? The Letter is Engraved ,like it was Stamped by Machine Press, possibly showing that its Bad,and should not be in circulation. In my coin 60% of E-Plurubus Unum does not exist on the coin! Any Advise? God Bless!

Beck,
Kissimmee FL

PS: Did the US MINT do this procedure to coins that have Errors?

Answer
Mirza:

Coins with engraving or counter stamping are altered, and not errors. The U.S. Mint did not use these methods to identify bad coins. Your coin with a portion of "E PLURBUS UNUM" missing may be an error caused from a greased or filled die, but I can not say for sure without a photo.

Continued Good Luck in your collecting.
