Question
1995P dime
1995P dime
I have a 1995 P dime that looks like it has a extra leaf stamped on top of the left tree of the torch.I send pictures of the dime to several coin collectors.None had seen or heard of an error/variety like this on a dime. Some of the collectors want me to send the coin to them for examination.Im very new to the coin collecting hobby.I really dont want to spend the extra money to have the coin graded,if it is worthless. But again,i might just have a valuable coin.
Im including a picture of my coin.Hoply you can give me info or a suggestion..
Thank you very much
Monika

Answer
Monika,

Thank you for the picture.  Unfortunately I will have to join the list of dealers that have never seen this variety before either.

About all I can do is refer you to a nationally recognized error coin expert I know :

Hopefully he can help you,

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
