Question
Dear Sir, I have found a 2004 Wide AM.Its not in Good condition, some Blobs in front,Lincolns face is Clear, and all the Marking of the Coin are there.Lots of Black-Color,smut,dirt...
The Letters AM are (clear-WIDE-Seperation,easy to SEE without a magnifying glass).
I learned that 1993 onwards US MINT went towards a CLOSE AM design and I learned that 1998,1999,2000 Wide AM's have been found. As I searched the NET I found nothing of any 2004 Wide AM
Am I the First person to Discover a 2004 Wide AM?
In a FAIR condition,What would be its Value?
Does it hold a collectors Value? God Bless!
Beck,
Kissimmee FL

As I told you before, I'm not an expert on the close "AM" varieties, but you can find all about them at the following site: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/wideams.html

I do not know if any 2004 (regular strike) wide AM cents are known. You need to contact John Wexler at: http://doubleddie.com/ and ask him. I can not offer an opinion on value. It could be of no value to several hundred, due to the condition, if it is established as a variety.

You may want to check ebay listings under US coins in the quarter or exonumia category to see if they are listed and what they are going for.

If you live close to a local shop, they should offer an opinion as to it's value and if it is authentic at no charge. Always try and get at least two opinions and try and deal with PNG dealers if possible. Here's a link to find one in your area: http://www.pngdealers.com/dealersearch.php

Thank You and Good Luck in your collecting.
