Question
I have two coins that I am wondering about.

1.  One (well used) 1959 aluminum 5 Zlotych coin... worth anything in U.S. dollar?

2.  Two rolls of uncirculated 2006 Jefferson Nickels in velvet World Reserve draw string pouches

Do I have anything special here?  I don't know anything about coins but I've just been holding on to these  :)

Thanks for the question.

I'm not competent on many world coins. I believe your 1959 aluminum coin is from Poland. Due to the metal content and condition you state, it is not likely worth a lot of money. Used small denomination world coins sell for about 5 to 7 for a dollar.

From Wikipedia: "In 1950, coins were issued for 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 groszy and 1 złoty. All denominations were minted in aluminium, with the 5 groszy also minted in bronze and the denominations above 5 groszy also minted in cupro-nickel. From 1957, aluminium coins for 5, 10, 20 and 50 groszy and 1 złoty were issued, with aluminium 2 and 5 złotych introduced in 1958. Cupro-nickel 10 and 20 złotych followed in 1959 and 1973, respectively. Brass 2 and 5 złotych were introduced in 1975, reverting to aluminium in 1989. In 1990, 50 and 100 złotych coins were issued, although they saw little circulation due to the high inflation occurring at that time." The two rolls of uncirculated Jefferson, from the Kennedy Mint site: "The year 2006 brought still another change in the Westward Journey Nickel Series. This time it was a change on the obverse, featuring a full facing portrait of Thomas Jefferson. This is the first time a rendition of a full face sculpture, rather than the usual profiles of presidents, were used. The reverse depicts Jeffersons Virginia home Monticello. Originally executed by Felix Schlag for the 1938 nickel, the design was carefully restored by the U.S. Mint showing crisper details in certain elements of the image." This site is selling a roll for $9.00, but you'd likely only get close to face value, $2.00, if you tried to sell it to a dealer. I found a listing on ebay for "Buy Now" at $8 for both rolls.

You may want to check ebay from time to time to see if your items are listed and what they are bringing.

If you live close to a local shop, they should offer an opinion as to it's value and if it is authentic at no charge. Always try and get at least two opinions and try and deal with PNG dealers if possible. Here's a link to find one in your area: http://www.pngdealers.com/dealersearch.php
