Coin and Paper Money Collecting/US Mint and Proof Sets

Question
Joe:

I have three US Mint sets from 1964 each containing five coins- 50 cent, 25c, 10c, 5c, and penny. Two are from the Philadelphia mint, one is from the Denver mint. All are sealed in plastic with each coin in its own compartment.

The Denver set and one of the Philadelphia sets has a small plastic token which identifies it as as "Uncirculated Coins of [city] Mint/ Distributed by US Mint". The second Philadelphia set has a small foil-like badge which simply states "US Mint/Philadelphia" and these coins appear to be of higher quality.

Questions: Could the second Philadelphia set be a proof set? In any event, what are the individual sets worth and what would you recommend as the beat way to sell them?

Thank you,

Doug

Answer
Hi Doug,

The Mint set consists of 1 Denver mint Sleeve and one Phillie Sleeve.
The other set is a Proof Set.

The Mint set would probably sell for about $35-40 and the Proof set should be about $24

Check eBay for current values and possibly a selling venue.
