Question

Fantasy
Hello, and thank you for your time.
I have a coin ,it look like 20 Pesetas  in Spain in 1892 / 92 (1886-31 - ALFONSO XIII) Spanish coin,but there is a mark(M 2003) at Obverse Image.
Is the cion a fantasy? Has it the value?how much is it worth now?

Answer
Hi again,
This appears to be an official re-strike, having the mark of the Madrid mint.
I have seen these before and they are made of .900 solid gold and should weigh 6.45 grams. This one has some extra material on the back, which is very unusual for such an item. These would have been under tight quality control and imperfect coins would be remelted.
If it is indeed the correct weight and made of gold, it would be worth a little above gold bullion value.
Thanks again! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
