Question
i have a 1992 mexican silver coin, on one side it has the eagle eating the serpent, with estados unidos mexicanos, and on the other side it has the date, a man with some wings, it also says 1 onza, n plata pura, n it says LEY.999, it also has a tiny M, by the angels hand. what would be the value of this coin?

Answer
Hi Rony,
This is a silver bullion coin so the value is in the silver, which is well over $30 per ounce at present. If the coin is in perfect condition with no stains, scratches, or other damage, it will be worth $5 to $10 more than silver weight.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
